I lost my cell phone is there a way to get my text messages from ATT

Do you know if I can obtain copies of my old text messages from ATT? I am not asking if I can get copies through some backup method (that I don't have). I mean can I or my lawyer contact ATT and get my text messages?

If it matters, I had an LG Pheonix 4
