Let's get you signed in to HBO Max, Haydengra.

In order to provide support we need to know a little more about your experience.

  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried? There are a couple of reasons that can explain why you're receiving that notification:
    • If you haven't activated your HBO Max benefit yet with a qualifying AT&T service then here are the steps you will want to take:
      1. Go to your myAT&T account overview via the web (not on myAT&T app)
      2. Look for the Activate HBO Max or Start Watching tile.
      3. Click Activate if it appears.
      4. Download HBO Max app from your favorite app store.
      5. Open HBO Max app and select the Person icon.
      6. Select Sign In, then Sign in with a Provider.
      7. Select AT&T and enter the AT&T User ID and Password.
        • Confirm the log-in used is the User ID and Password associated with HBO Max benefit):
      8. Start Streaming!
    • You are using the incorrect AT&T user ID, from an account that doesn’t include the qualifying AT&T service, with HBO Max.

Also, if you've been using HBO Max and recently encountered this subscription verification trend then you may need to sign out completely from the HBO Max app then sign back in with the Sign in with a Provider option.

Reach back out to us and let us know how this goes. If you still need assistance then we can invite you into a Direct Message to provide additional support.

There is no HBO tile, even though the plan states HBO Max included I have been told that it is no longer included.

Thank you for reaching back out to us with the update Haydengra!

You'll receive the ''can't verify subscription'' error message if:

  • You didn’t activate their HBO Max benefit yet with a qualifying AT&T service.
See eligible Plans. Let us know what plan you are currently on, so we can provide personalized help.

-OR-

  • You are using the incorrect AT&T user ID, from an account that doesn’t include the qualifying AT&T service, with HBO Max. Learn how to reset you AT&T password which can help troubleshoot your HBO Max sign in concern.

We also recommend logging out completely from the HBO Max app and logging back in with the Sign in with a Provider option.

If this does not help, sign in using web browser instead, so we can pinpoint the area of concern.

From a web browser

  1. Go to hbomax.com, then select Sign In.
  2. Select SIGN IN THROUGH TV OR MOBILE PROVIDER.
  3. Choose AT&T and enter the AT&T user ID and password.
  4. Select Sign in.
  5. If it’s your first time signing in, create your HBO Max profile. It may take up to a minute.
  6. Choose your profile to start streaming.

We are here if you need additional help! Thank you for posting on AT&T Community Forums!
