Landline Home Phone

If I have only local calling and NO long distance plan, can I RECEIVE long distance calls AT NO COST?

How do I temporarily unhook AT&T landline from my house? I want to try an internet based phone, and need to have the AT&T landline unhooked before I hook the new system in.

Whom do you contact for maintenance of a exterior line from the pole to the house?

This is not a phone problem. When I tried to make a payment online, I found that my credit card expiration date was altered. Has this ever happened to any of you? Is there a chance of a data breach?

I would like to have my landline service transferred to a new address and have been unable to get anywhere with customer support over the phone.
